I plan on going back to take better pictures of the Bedford Brown Bethell House in Des Arc. While making a turn to go back to photograph the old high school building I just happened to drive by this beautiful old place.
More information on the Bedford Brown Bethell House can be found on The Department of Arkansas Heritage website.
The trumpeter swans have mostly gone from Magness and Hiram Rd. in Heber Springs. They have started their trip north to their spring/summer breeding grounds and won’t return to Arkansas until around November.
I stopped by Hiram Road yesterday and there were only about 30 swans left. When I stopped by Magness Lake there were none. Amongst the trumpeters was a lone tundra swan that was constantly being harassed by the tumpeters.

A great blue heron tiptoeing through the grass along the shore of Lake Overcup in Morrilton.
I spent this morning at Lakeview Landing in Morrilton photographing the pelicans, coots, ducks and other waterfowl. I stayed in the car the whole time I was there since it was chilly and I let the fisherman use the pier so I wouldn’t be in their way.
